Sorting and Washing

In order to begin the dehydration process, the onions first need to be sorted and washed carefully. The sorting is done using the buffer bins and sorters. At this stage the onions are scrunitized very closely and cleaned to remove any dirt or debris with the help of flood washers, rod washers, and the like.

Image
Peeling and Inspection

Once sorted, the next tedious task is of peeling the onions so as to ensure that there is minimal wastage. At these peeling stations, automated peeling machines efficiently remove the outer layers while inspection conveyors ensure only the highest quality onions proceed to the next stage. This step involves both automated systems and manual inspection to identify and remove any onions that do not meet our high standards.

Image
Cutting and Blanching

Next, onions are precisely cut to the desired size and shape before undergoing blanching with hot water and steam blanchers. Blanching helps to inactivate enzymes that can affect flavor, color, and texture. It also helps to preserve the nutritional value of the onions. Cutting is crucial for ensuring uniformity in the dehydration process and the final product.

Image
Dewatering and Feeding

After blanching, dewatering vibrators are put to work to dewater the onions. These machines effectively reduce the moisture content of the onions to prepare them for drying. Dewatering is done to ensure optimal moisture content before being fed into the drying process. The feeders on the other hand, are designed to evenly distribute the onions onto the drying trays, ensuring uniform exposure to the drying air.

Image
Drying and Cooling

Onions are then fed into our state-of-the-art dryers, which utilize multi-stage drying technology to gently remove moisture while preserving flavor and texture. Once dried, onions are cooled to room temperature to ensure optimal quality. The cooling process ensures that the dehydrated onions maintain their optimal condition during storage and transportation.

Packing and Storage

Finally, dehydrated onions are carefully packed into retail or bulk packaging options, such as buffer bins, ensuring freshness and convenience for our clients. Proper storage is crucial for maintaining the quality of dehydrated onions. Our facilities are equipped to store the product in optimal conditions, protecting it from moisture, light, and other factors that could compromise quality.

This is achieved using advanced washing lines that incorporate gentle agitation and high-pressure sprays to cleanse the leaves without causing damage. After this, the vegetables are closely scrutinized on inspection conveyors to ensure that only the finest produce proceeds to the next stage.

Image
Cutting

The next step includes the cutting of the vegetables into desired size and shape with precision. We achieve this with the help of our advanced chopper equipment. This machinery is designed to deliver consistent and uniform cuts, which is essential for even drying. High quality standards are maintained throughout the cutting process as well.

Image
Blanching

The freshness of the cut leafy vegetables is locked in by blanching them in hot water or steam blanchers. This involves briefly immersing the vegetables in hot water or exposing them to steam in specialized blanchers. Blanching inactivates enzymes that can cause deterioration, thereby locking in the freshness and vibrant color of the leaves. This step prevents the loss of essential nutrients from the vegetables

Image
Dewatering and Feeding

To ensure that optimal moisture content is with-held in the vegetables post blanching, they are dewatered. Vibratory, belt, or oscillating type feeders are used to dewater the leafy vegetables. By removing excess moisture, we ensure that the vegetables dry evenly and quickly, preventing the growth of microorganisms and preserving the quality of the final product. The dewatered leaves are then carefully fed into the drying system, ensuring an even distribution for optimal drying results.

Image
Drying and Cooling

State-of-the-art dryers are then employed to dry and cool the leafy vegetables as per requirement. They are dried through several stages while making sure that their nutritional value and texture are intact. Once dried, the vegetables are cooled to room temperature for optimal quality. This step is essential for stabilizing the product and preventing any moisture reabsorption, which can affect the quality and shelf life of the final product.

Packing and Storage

Finally, our premium dehydrated leafy vegetables are very carefully packed. They are packed either into retail or into bulk packaging options depending on the requirement of the customer. Our packaging options include airtight bags, vacuum-sealed containers, and bulk packaging solutions, all designed to protect the vegetables from moisture, light, and other environmental factors that could compromise their quality.
